In our Fogarty mattress review, we dissect the traditional 1000 pocket spring mattress by the company that has been in the industry for over 200 years.
They are well-known for their high-quality pillows, duvets, and mattress protection products. In 2015, the company was acquired by Dunelm, who now distributes and sells its products.
This mattress is made in the UK and features high-quality construction such as double-side stitching, which ensures that your bed lasts for a long time.
Materials & Construction
The Fogarty traditional pocket springs bed is constructed to provide active support for your body while at the same time utilising materials that aim to make sleep more comfortable for you.
- A layer of 1,000 pocket springs that are individually encased in fabric pockets provides support to your body that is actively changing to cater to your needs. According to your position, these springs independently contour to your body and redistribute the weight to avoid any pressure build-up on the joints.
- Layers of hypoallergenic fillings are integrated into the mattress, which lessens the possibilities of you breaking up into unwanted reactions. If you are sensitive and are prone to allergies, this is a useful feature that you will appreciate.
- Air vents have been incorporated throughout the whole bed to facilitate airflow and make it more breathable.
This bed has a cover that has gone through anti-allergy treatment, which works in unison with the hypoallergenic fillings. This ensures that the surface you are sleeping on is not riddled with dust mites or other allergens.
I sincerely appreciate this feature as I am very prone to allergies and often find myself sneezing in bed when it is not hypoallergenic.
All Fogarty mattresses have a one-sided sleeping surface. This sleeping surface is tufted and padded, which is a great feature that will provide a soft and comfortable exterior that will feel pleasant to the skin.
There are also handles sewn into the sides, which helps you turn or rotate the bed.
Comfort & Support
This is a bed that offers a medium firmness, a right all-rounder firmness level that caters to many sleepers. It is best suitable for front and combination sleepers as it’s just the excellent collaboration of comfort and support.
Despite being soft and comfortable, it still provides the perfect amount of support for your body. It’s one of the beds that provide the effect of “sleeping on a cloud” without sacrificing support.
Hypoallergenic fillings serve as a good comfort layer integrated with the pocket springs responsible for support.
Its tufted sleep surface feels cosy and silky to the touch, giving it a luxurious feel. Its depth also contributes to the luxurious experience, making it substantial and supportive. This is a function of the individually wrapped pocket springs, which help conform to your body, no matter how heavier you are or what position you sit in.
Throughout the night, pocket springs can provide you with customised support tailored to your needs and sleeping positions.
A benefit of this feature is that it is also ideal for sharing a bed with very different needs and sleeping habits. The independent pocket springs can be designed to conform and provide the support needed for either of you, compromising the other’s experience.
Another significant effect of the pocket spring feature is that it can redistribute your weight so that tension will not build up in your joints or limbs. This prevents any soreness when you wake up in the morning.
Some customers have mentioned how it’s helped alleviate body and joint pain that they have been experiencing for quite a while.
If you’re experiencing some back, shoulder, or any joint pain, this might be the bed that will help make things better.
